ASHS Announces One-Year Complimentary Graduate Student Membership in ASHS Print E-mail

The American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) invites all Graduate Students focusing on horticulture to take advantage of a free one-year Graduate Student Membership in ASHS including a complimentary online subscription to an ASHS journal of your choice!

Signing up is easy:

The ASHS Board of Directors is well aware that today’s graduate students are the future members and officers of the Society. They, too, were once graduate students and never imagined at the time they would be leading the world’s premier horticultural science society. The Board and the entire ASHS membership wants to share all the Society has to offer with those who are the future of horticulture and the Society—you—today’s Graduate Students. In addition to your membership in ASHS, you will receive:

  • Electronic access to the ASHS Newsletter, the monthly member publication of ASHS that is full of news about the Society, research, horticulturists, meetings, resources, and jobs in horticulture.
  • A complimentary electronic subscription to your choice of the three ASHS journals. You may choose the Journal of ASHS, HortScience, or HortTechnology, and will receive full online access to all current issues and the full archives.
  • Full access to the Members Only section of the ASHS web site. You’ll have full access to the ASHS Video Workshop Series, including HortEducator and the Video Biographies section, with more than 80 video interviews of notable horticulturists of the 20th Century.

And of course you will have all the other member benefits that come with ASHS—reduced subscription prices to the other journals, reduced registration for the ASHS Annual Conference, and perhaps most important, the interaction opportunities with the thousands of other members of ASHS—no better way to network and make contacts for your future in horticulture.

“But wait . . . I just joined ASHS as a Graduate Student a couple of months ago.”

No worries . . . . If you joined ASHS on or after June 1, 2012, your membership will be extended for an additional 12 months! And you will be contacted as to which journal you want to subscribe to.

If you have any questions, please contact Executive Director Michael Neff ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), and he’ll be happy to answer you.
